Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan is one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand, and is well-suited to those who enjoy the finer things in life along with boisterous nighttime beach parties.

Location

Koh Phangan is just 15 km to the north of Koh Samui. Travel time between the two is about 40 minutes, with ferries making multiple trips daily from 10:30 to 18:30. A ferry from the mainland will take about two-and-a-half hours.

Beach Vacations

There is no better place to vacation than the Phangan coast. As they say, if it’s good enough for the royal family (who are known to vacation here)…

Entertainments

Every month, the famous Full Moon Party is held on Haad Rin beach, with the new moon being celebrated at the Black Moon Party. And don’t for a second think the waxing and waning moons would be left out, as Half Moon parties in between the two mainstays hold sway.

Active Leisure

Koh Phangan is one of largest centers in the country for diving. A real Mecca for divers is the neighboring island – Koh Tao.

Services

As is traditionally the case for small islands in Thailand, the service industry on Koh Phangan includes small open restaurants, shops, and various SPA-salons.

Prices

Koh Phangan is one of the most expensive resorts in the country, but there are also good budget options. As entertainment is usually affordable however, it often sees a large younger crowd.

Please note:

there is often a massive influx of tourists for the Full Moon Party, with a direct increase in petty crime, such as break and enter of hotel rooms.
