Trang

Despite the availability of enormous number of places where you can spend time interestingly, Trang is the province that is rather quiet, relaxing, not for the clubbers. Vacation there is the best choice for people who are tired of the hustle and bustle of the metropolis and of big popular resorts, for those who are seeking privacy, harmony and inspiration in nature.

Location

The province is located in the south of Thailand, on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula, approximately 830 km from Bangkok. The most convenient way to travel to there from the capital is by plane: the flight will take less than one and a half hour.

The province consists of the mainland - 119 km of the coast of the Andaman Sea - and of 46 islands.

The nearest major international airport is located in Krabi. It receives flights from Bangkok, Samui, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. It takes about two and a half hours to get from Krabi to the hotel.

Beach vacation

The Trang beaches are sandy, clean and uncrowded, the sea is crystal clear.

Sights

Nature and antiquities lovers will find there what to enjoy. Trang is known for its gorgeous waterfalls in the jungle, caves and ancient Buddhist temples. You can visit sanctuaries Namtok Khao Chong and Khlong Lamchan Park, as well as the national park, Mu Koh Petra. 11 km from the center of the province, the botanical garden is located.

Near from the sea coast, a lot of dugongs may be found, this is the unofficial symbols of Thailand. They can often be seen near from the Libong Island.

Entertainments and active leisure

The main local entertainments are snorkeling and diving. In addition, you can also rent a boat and go to the islands. There are three large piers here: Pak Meng that is the biggest one, Ban Chao Mai and Kuan Thung Kuu.

Trang is famous for its mass underwater wedding ceremony, which is held every February. The tourists can not only look at the celebration, but to get married under sea as well, by submitting a request in advance.

Infrastructure

There is a wide range of hotels in Trang - starting from luxury hotels to budget accommodations. As elsewhere in Thailand, there is a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, massage salons and day spas.

Prices

The province can be chosen for a budget vacation.

Attention!

The proximity of the Indian Ocean affects the climate. All the year round, monsoons blow there and the rains do not stop even when the wet season period in Thailand has ended. The best time in the year for a vacation in Trang province is from December till May.
